CD Replication: Evolving Business in the Market!

There are times in life when people are in need of end numbers of copy of a video Compact Disc (CD) or of a CD that contains family photographs or any function. So, at such circumstances one might get into the costlier process to get the multiple copies of a CD. However, with the advancement in technology and developments, the CD Replication industry has shown great improvements in their products and services.

The replication process of a compact disc is nothing but a physical production that actually involves a process of pressing the discs during manufacture from a glass master. The discs that have gone under replication process are also known as CD ROM discs where ROM stands for ‘Read-Only Memory’.  Here, the process of replication goes as the glass master which is made of glass is coated by a chemical that is later burned off with a laser. The glass master of the CD is termed to be negative and hence is then coated with a molten nickel compound and turned into a stamper. Thereafter, the stamper punches tiny pits in the production CDs that use molten aluminium as the reflective surface and polycarbonate for the remaining disc. After that the replicated CDs are printed using offset lithographic process that leads to a very high quality disc.

Replication process is also bestowed with end number of advantages such as:
·         It is ideal for print runs of more than 1000 discs with much lower costs for large chunks.
·         Generated top quality products with the help of silk screen or offset lithographic printing.
The other type of CD production is known as CD Duplication that is suitable for the smaller productions that is less than 1000 with quicker turnaround times. The process involves burning of blank CD and DVD and adding contents onto the discs.

The other activity that goes hand-in-hand with the replication process of CD is CD Packaging. Packaging of CDs is termed to be very important as it actually helps in luring the customers to buy the discs. It is also considered to be the most effective marketing tool by the companies involved into CD businesses. With the changing trends of style and fashion and people becoming turning towards eco-friendly products, the companies are coming up with high quality and environment friendly packaging. Some of the known packaging forms available in the market are Jake box, DigiPak etc.
